Sharing Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfil our contracts with you, as described above. For example:

  • We use Shopify to power our online store. You can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • We use Klaviyo to manage email marketing communications. Klaviyo receives your email address, name, and purchase history to deliver relevant marketing messages on our behalf.
  • We share customer data with advertising platforms (including Google Ads) for audience matching and targeted advertising purposes, as described in the “Advertising Audiences” section below.
  • We may share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Advertising Audiences

We may share certain customer Personal Information with third-party advertising platforms for the purpose of delivering more relevant advertising and reaching new potential customers. This includes the following activities:

Customer Match / audience matching: We may upload customer information (such as email addresses, names, and country) in hashed or encrypted form to advertising platforms including Google Ads. These platforms use this data to match customers against their user accounts, enabling us to show targeted advertisements to existing customers and to create “lookalike” or “similar” audiences of potential new customers who share characteristics with our existing customers.

Retargeting: We may use advertising platform tools to show advertisements to people who have previously visited our Site, added items to their cart, or made a purchase.

How your data is protected in this process: Customer data shared for audience matching is transmitted in hashed form, meaning the advertising platform receives a scrambled version of your information that cannot be reversed into the original data. The platforms use this hashed data solely to match against their own user records and do not share it with other advertisers or use it for purposes unrelated to our advertising campaigns.

Legal basis (GDPR): We process your Personal Information for audience matching and retargeting under our legitimate interest in marketing our products to relevant audiences, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. We have assessed that this processing is proportionate and does not override your rights and freedoms, given the use of hashing, the limited scope of data shared, and the availability of opt-out mechanisms described below.

Opting out: You can opt out of audience-based advertising at any time by:

  • Contacting us at clothing@storror.com to request removal from advertising audience lists.
  • Adjusting your advertising preferences directly with the relevant platform (see “Behavioural Advertising” section below).
  • Using your browser or device advertising settings to limit ad personalisation.

If you opt out, we will remove your data from advertising audience uploads within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days). Note that opting out will not affect any other processing of your data described in this Privacy Policy.

Behavioural Advertising

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For example:

  • We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • We use Google Ads Customer Match to show relevant advertisements to existing customers and to reach new potential customers with similar characteristics. You can learn more about Google’s advertising data practices here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational page at https://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.

You can opt out of targeted advertising by:

  • FACEBOOK — https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
  • GOOGLE — https://www.google.com/settings/ads/anonymous
  • BING — https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/policies/personalized-ads

We use your Personal Information to provide our services to you, which includes: offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfilment of your order, and keeping you up to date on new products, services, and offers.

Lawful Basis

Pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), if you are a resident of the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we process your personal information under the following lawful bases:

  • Your consent;
  • The performance of the contract between you and the Site;
  • Compliance with our legal obligations;
  • To protect your vital interests;
  • To perform a task carried out in the public interest;
  • For our legitimate interests, which do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

SMS

We may collect and use your SMS number to send you updates about your orders, promotions, or other communications with your explicit consent. By providing us with your SMS number, you consent to our use of this information for these purposes. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at clothing@storror.com. We take the security and privacy of your data seriously and will ensure that it is stored and used in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. You can access, modify, or delete your SMS number and any other personal information we collect by contacting us at clothing@storror.com. By using our services, you agree to this privacy policy and our terms of service.

Retention

When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records unless and until you ask us to erase this information. For more information on your right of erasure, please see the “Your rights” section below.

Automatic Decision-Making

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have the right to object to processing based solely on automated decision-making (which includes profiling), when that decision-making has a legal effect on you or otherwise significantly affects you.

We do not engage in fully automated decision-making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer data.

Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you.

Services that include elements of automated decision-making include:

  • Temporary blacklist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions. This blacklist persists for a small number of hours.
  • Temporary blacklist of credit cards associated with blacklisted IP addresses. This blacklist persists for a small number of days.
